My Fiance

So, for today's post, i have to introduce a new contributing author. Her name is Melissa Jane Engstrom and she is the love of my life. We just got engaged and the details of that (including photos) will be coming shortly, once the english language expands enough to express how happy we are. Until then, the following is an essay she wrote describing us:

He is right handed; I am left. He is athletic; I am crafty. He is an English major; I can’t spell. He loves coconut; I don’t. He can’t tan; I can. He is from the east and I am from the west. He reads poetry; I listen to rap music. He cooks; I clean. We are different but we are also the same. We can’t dance. We can’t sing. We both are 6 feet tall. We love our families. He thinks I am beautiful and I think he is the most wonderful person in the entire world. We are in LOVE and this is how it happened.

Last Spring, I found myself back in Provo moving into a new place with an old friend. I left Provo, UT in the fall of 2008 and would spend the next 18 months of my life living in Montana with no prospects for marriage, no dating and no desire to look. I had been in my new apartment for approximately 10 minutes before the man I would marry entered my front door. His name was Greg and he had come over to see someone else. Whatever his reasons for coming over, we spoke for five minutes and bonded over our use of coupons and TV shows from our past. He left, wanting to get to know me better. I left our first meeting not thinking anything more of him. I was awkward and scared of boys. I hadn’t thought about dating in forever. My game was rusty; I couldn’t remember how to flirt but Greg was patient. (He has always been the firm, constant one in our relationship.) Our first date was a month later; our second date was two days after the first, and the third the next day. Months later we found ourselves in love and a few more months later wanting to spend forever together.

She is so wonderful and despite her protests saying that the title belongs to her, i am the luckiest!
